Back from Branson

Well, we're back from Branson. We spent a couple of days there and had a really good time (aside from the timeshare presentation we endured). Actually I wouldn't mind being able to go down and stay in one of those units. They are really nice. We just don't want to go into debt to do it.
We swam in the hotel pool a couple of times. The best thing was the jacuzzi. It felt soooo good. We saw the Sons of the Pioneers as a dinner theater thing. Good food too. They give you a chance to go up and talk to the performers, which was nice. Then the next day we went to Silver Dollar City. This was our first time to do that. It was a good decision. It's built right out there in the wooded area, so there is lots of shade, even on hot sunny days. There are several shows during the day that you can see for no extra cost. There are, of course, lots of shops where you can buy things. The food was good and didn't seem as high priced as I thought it might be. The cold drinks were expensive though. It reminded me of the St. Louis Zoo in that respect. We got the refillable mugs. There are some really good areas for young children, with water games and rides. All in all, it was a good deal. You can get a two day ticket for $40 from the people we booked with and enjoy lots of entertainment for the price of one show ticket in Branson. We forgot our camera, so we had a guy take our picture in a restaurant. It needs a little photoshopping, but you get the idea. We're glad to be back home. We'll be leaving again in another week for Grandma's "ash scattering" ceremony and the family reunion. I don't know how many people will be there. We will enjoy Oregon though. It's beautiful there.

I'm glad you had a good time! Looks like we're going to be coming down to Salem as well. Nothing like short notice, eh? Can't wait to see you and Dad. And Pakamer. :)
