Ouch!

No picture for this one. We provided dinner for the elders this evening. They were looking at Alan's high school yearbook while I did the last minute preparation. When we sat down to eat, one of them said, "So, how does it feel to get old?" OUCH!!!

It's not a great picture of them, but oh, well.

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing our missionaries. I sent an email and a copy of the picture to their moms. They were happy to get it. You may be jealous; I made the elders a "Big Valentine Cookie". Too bad you weren't here; I would have made you one too. I made small ones for my Young Women. I would liked to have sent some to Aaron, but since packages stay at the mission home until they come there or someone else goes where they are, I figured the cookies would be in bad shape by the time he got them. He should be in Fresno at the temple today -- yesterday was Presidents' Day, so no email. If he can slip one in, I'll put it on his blog. I'm off work again today since the teachers are in professional development classes. I only have a three day work week this week. I think we are going to work on organizing the basement this afternoon. Do we know how to have fun or what??

Comfy Room

Now we can read in bed without getting a stiff neck.

Oooo. . . I'm excited. FedEx delivered the lounge pillows we ordered to put on our beds. Now we can read in bed --- or we can watch a movie in the privacy of our own room. Since we now have missionaries in our home, we can't always watch a movie in the living room. Although they are out teaching most of the time, there are still some times when they are around (p-day for example). When Mike and Amy donated their larger TV to our cause, we moved the one we had to the bedroom. It's kind of pitiful that this is the most exciting thing that is going on around here, but we get our jollies where we can.

Actually, on a more serious note, we do have some good news. Our Salem missionaries have been working VERY hard. They have been here less than two weeks and already have 2 or 3 people who have commited to baptism. Perhaps this is the time for Salem Branch to grow???

Snowy Salem

Like many of you, we have had our share of snow lately. We got out of school early yesterday after it started snowing rather hard. That sounds a bit premature, but I'm glad they did it. I got home around 2:00 and by that time people were starting to slide all over the place. Of course compared to Washington, D.C. who got 30 inches, our snow experience is pretty tame. I guess we need to go out there and get busy shoveling our way out. I tried to take a couple of pictures so you could see what we got, but of course it doesn't show it the way it really looks. Snow is piled on the tree limbs two or three inches thick. It's so pretty. I'm glad it's a weekend so we don't have to drive in it too much though. Hope you are all safe.
