Two More Weeks

We went to Columbia last Monday and they took off most of the padding around Alan's finger.  He no longer is "the Claw".  What do you think it would be called now? (See the picture below)  They still left the pins and a bit of foam to prevent his catching the pins on something and ripping his finger.  He can take the foam off and let things dry out.  You know how your skin gets under a wet band-aid; it would do the same.  We go back again a week from this coming Monday to get the pins out.  We're looking forward to that.  Now he has to start exercising the muscles to get back some of the flexibility.

This is so weird.

No, no, please don't make me drink any more!!

Okay, so I had to have a colonoscopy done on Friday.  That wasn't really so bad.  I was unconscious the whole time it was being done so they wheeled me into the OR and the next thing I knew I was coming to, back in the recovery room.  The big deal with a colonoscopy is drinking the prep stuff.  It's this salty lemony stuff and there is over a gallon of it.  You have to drink 8 ounces of it every 10 minutes.  Here's what I thought of when I was drinking it:

Not to discourage anyone from having a colonoscopy done.  It can really find things that you don't want to ignore.  One should never ignore their health.  The prep is a good source of humor though.

Here is another thing that you might be interested in.  I took some pictures the other night of Alan sitting in his recliner.  Pakamer has loved the fact that he has been out there sleeping in the recliner while his fractured sternum heals.  It hurt for him to lie flat.  He has got much better now though and has been able to sleep in his bed (much to Pakamer's disappointment).  She loved it because she could curl up with him and the electric throw.  One cold evening he wrapped her up in it and was petting her.  She was in heaven.

This one doesn't show her smug look very well, but it does show his wrapped up hand petting her ears.
