Thanksgiving

The "Barnard" family got together the weekend before Thanksgiving to celebrate. It was great to see everyone. We played games, visited, and ATE !! I am including pictures of the rock band, Michael J. climbing the tree in Jeanette's backyard with Zach, Dominic and Danny playing on the huge exercise ball, Jeanette and Laura's dogs, Aaron with Michael B., Jeanette and Dustan shortly after Aaron announced that he has received his mission call to Fresno, California (YEA!!), Karen, Kayleen, and Sierra working in the kitchen, and my favorite (a terribly goofy picture of Sierra, Zach, and Danny. I have to laugh every time I see that one. Aaron has known for a week about his mission call, but wanted to surprise all the family together. It was hard not to say anything to anyone, but he did it! We are now planning our Christmas get-together.

This weekend's activities

We had a YW overnight at the Cowling Farm Friday night. Out of 8 possible YW, we had 7 in attendance. We felt good about that. They seemed to have a good time; giggling abounded. I ended up with value colored fingernails. I had intended to take a picture of them to show you, but didn't get it done. While I was gone Saurday, Dad had another gun class. It allowed him to do some more target practice. He did really well; they even timed him and he was the quickest draw in the class. Yea, Alan!!

Halloween has come and gone

I forgot to take my camera with me to school on Halloween. Oops! We did have a branch social in the evening though, and I took it with me then. The Young Women were in charge of the social, so it was a pretty busy time. We had a chili cookoff. Dad made some pretty cool certificates for the winning chili recipes. We had a Trunk or Treat out in the parking lot after we ate, and then some games following that. We had an amazing number of people show up. We usually do well if we have around 45 people there; at this one we had a little over 100, with around 20 of them nonmembers and quite a few were less actives. I'm including some pictures of the trunk or treat, one of my punch complete with gummy eyeballs, and one of my costume. I wore it at school. The kids went crazy. I must have heard "You're a ladybug" a hundred times that day. I also wore it at the social. That hat got a little itchy by the end of the day. Jeanette, Vincent was sure cute in his lobster costume!

Pumpkin Farm Trip

On Thursday, Oct. 30 I went with the K,1,&2nd grades to the pumpkin farm. It was a pretty long bus ride. (over 1 1/2 hrs. one way) It was a really nice place though and the kids were good. They had a great time too. Here are a couple of pictures from that day.
