Yes, again . . . . .

I know - it sounds like we never go anywhere else.  But this was a good opportunity.  My brother Ed & his wife Barb called and asked us if we would like to share their condo in Branson.  They also have season passes to Silver Dollar City which allows them to take another couple in with them for free.  This was just too good to pass up.  We drove down Wednesday morning and did a little shopping before meeting them for dinner.  Alan & I had tickets for a show (Pierce Arrow) which we had never seen before.  Pierce Arrow is the name of a male quartet.  They did a good show with lots of good singing and some funny comedy to go with it.  The condo was very nice - a good relaxing place to go in the evening.  The next day we saw a show called "California Dreaming" which was also a quartet, this time 2 men and 2 women.  They sang a lot of the music from the 60's.  I think there were only two songs I wasn't familiar with.

That evening we saw "The Adventures of Marco Polo".  I didn't know what to expect from it.  Whatever I expected, this show wasn't it.  It turned out to be mostly ballet.  Not too surprising if you consider where Marco Polo went, most of the ballet stars were Chinese.  They were very talented.  There was even some magic and some gymnastics added into the show.  Our last show was one that we had resisted for years.  Finally we decided that we might as well see it just so we could say that we had.  It was "The Baldknobbers".  If you've seen any of their advertising you expected nothing but hillbillies and goofiness.  As it turned out there was some good singing, excellent instrument usage and the "hillbilly" humor was very funny.  The guy with the bubba teeth wasn't there.  Maybe that was a good thing.  Or maybe he would have been good too, who knows?  It just goes to show you that you can't always make a good judgement unless you have all the facts.

I really liked this guy.  He was very agile and smiled a lot.

Their sets and costumes were very ornate.

These costumes were very beautiful.  There wasn't enough light to show it properly, but you get the idea.

The guy on the right had some really good jokes.

Here we are at Silver Dollar City.  Despite the heat, there is a lot of shade.  The humidity was really high though.  There was lots of good entertainment and it's all for one price.  Did I tell you our price was FREE???
